How do I create test orders?
When first integrating with ChannelEngine or when adding a completely new channel/marketplace, it may be desirable to create one or more test orders to test processing these orders.
You can create these test orders by performing the following steps:
- Go to your CE dashboard
- Select 'Settings' --> 'Support'
- Fill in all the info you need for your test order and click on '+ Create test order'. The only minimum requirement is that you enter a valid / active product in the 'Order lines' section, otherwise orders will most likely not be retrieved by your order management system. All other sections are optional and if left empty, they will be filled with our own default dummy data.
- If you do not have any (active) products and no channels added, you can not create a test order. Every order has to (pretend to) originate from a specific channel containing at least one valid product in order to successfully process it.
- If you do have a channel and products in ChannelEngine, but you can not select a product, you will most likely only have created parent and grandparent products. Only standalone or child products are saleable and can be included in a (test) order.
ChannelEngine test orders will always have a channel order number formatted as ' CE-TEST-XXXXX'. These orders can be shipped / cancelled / returned (if the channel allows for this) to test the order flow, but this will logically not be exported to channels itself (as it is a completely unknown order for them).
